Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg grantedd a motion filed by Indiana stated pension funds to delay the mergedr between the American and Italiab automakers in whatthe U.S. Treasurty Department said was an administrative extension designed to allowq sufficient time for the Supreme Court to explorde whether or not a stay is according to several published reports late The Supreme Court move extends a stay alreadty issued by a lower court that was set to expird lateafternoon Monday. Fiat has givenj Chrysler until June 15 to finishthe merger. Attorneya for the pension funds argued that they would receivde just pennies on the dollard fora $42 millionn loan given to Chrysler. However, U.S.
Solicitor General Elena Kagan said the imminent collaps ofChrysler — said to be losingg upward of $100 million daily was of greater concern to governmentg officials than the loan dispute.
