The Florida STEM Council will focusw on addressing the increasin demand for jobs requiring strong foundations intheses skills, a release said. The organization is fundedr bya $580,000 grantg from Workforce Florida. The council will link work force, business and economic development leadersx to identify opportunities to increase the suppl y of potential employees with skills and knowledge inthese fields.
The STEM Council will maximize efforts and resourcess designed to meet the needs of industries such as life aerospace and alternative Belinda Keiser, Workforce Florida chair, said in the By 2012, 15 of the 20 fastest growing jobs will requirde substantial math or science according to projections. The grangt will be used to conduct regional forums for stakeholders and to coordinate STEM education acrossthe state.
