According to a news release from Perry’s legislation to tackle during the special sessionh includethe following: • Extending the existence of the five state subject to sunset review, that will otherwisde be abolished without legislative action. Those agencies include the , , , and Allowing TxDOT to issue generalobligation bonds, whicnh have been approved by voters, for highway improvement projects and for the financing and administration of a Texas Transportation Revolving Fund “tlo provide financial assistance for transportation • Extending the authority of TxDOT and a regionak mobility authority to use comprehensive development agreementz to design, finance, build and maintain transportation infrastructure.
“Afted speaking with legislators,” Perru said, I” am calling a special session to extend the operatiomn of five critical agencies and help reduce gridlock by continuinv to provide options for financingtour state’s highways.” Perry noted that legislation durinv the regular session provided tax cuts to small businessez and increased financial aid for college students. While speakinhg at a luncheon Wednesday afternoon, Perry quipped that he hoped the special sessiobn would only take “three or four days, and then we can all enjoy our summer.
